4Gon:

Hello and welcome to 4G TV, 4Gon Solutions’ product review channel.

I’m Alex Miller, part of the technical sales team at 4Gon Solutions and our sister company VoIPon, both leading distributors of communications equipment and serving customers worldwide.

Today we’re going to look at the Ubiquiti airGrid models, a series of Point-to-Multipoint bridges designed as a powerful and robust wireless CPE.

So let’s get started.

The Ubiquiti airGrid box contains:

  • Grid reflector,
  • Antenna feed,
  • Feed support,
  • Mounting hardware,
  • PoE Adapter,
  • Power cord,
  • And documentation.

The airGrid units are lightweight meaning they are easily mountable.

The airGrid has features that include:

  • InnerFeed technology that integrates the radio system into the antenna feedhorn,
  • Capability for 100+ Mbps of real outdoor throughput,
  • A 30+ km range,
  • Horizontal or vertical polarization,
  • Ubiquiti’s airOS, airView and airControl software provides a powerful and intuitive network management system.

The airGrid models combine Ubiquiti’s inner feed and airMax technologies to create a robust CPE. There are four models available including the M2-HP 16dBi and M2-HP 20 dBi, both operating in the 2.4GHz spectrum. The M5-HP 23dBi and M5-HP 27 dBi both operate in the 5GHz spectrum.

After reviewing the Ubiquiti airGrid, we’ve given it a 4Gon Rating of eight out of ten.

The airGrid units offer 100Mpbs of real outdoor throughput at a range of 30km. Depending on the user requirements, there is an airGrid model for any given scenario.

So that was our review of the Ubiquiti airGrid range.
