First Look at the Ubiquiti PowerBeam ac Range

What is the Ubiquiti PowerBeam ac?

The Ubiquiti PowerBeam PBE-5ac-620 directs RF energy in a tighter beamwidth. With the focus in one direction, the PowerBeam ac blocks or spatially filters out noise, so noise immunity is improved. This feature is especially important in an area crowded with other RF signals of the same or similar frequency.

What are the key features of the Ubiquiti PowerBeam ac?

  • Uniform Beamwidth Maximizes Noise Immunity
  • Innovative Mechanical Design
  • High-Speed Processor for Superior Performance

The InnerFeedTM technology from Ubiquiti integrates the radio into the feedhorn of an antenna, so there is no need for a cable. This improves performance because it eliminates cable losses. Featuring high performance and innovative mechanical design, the PowerBeam ac is versatile and cost-effective to deploy.

What models are available?

The PowerBeam ac 5ac-620 joins the PowerBeam ac-5ac-500 in the Ubiquiti PowerBeam range, the latest generation of Ubiquiti airMax CPE.

How can you control the Ubiquiti PowerBeam?

The PowerBeam ac can be controlled using the airOS software from Ubiquiti. This allows full control over the deployment and enables access to powerful wireless features, usability enhancements, spectral analysis and much more.

One Response to First Look at the Ubiquiti PowerBeam ac Range

  1. Darren says:

Please be aware that contrary to the manufacturer’s claims, spectral analysis does not work on the PowerBeam AC-5AC-500 units supplied by 4Gon and that an RMA to Ubquiti is required to have devices upgraded, so that Airview works.
    (This is not 4Gon’s fault)
Apart from this problem, the units are amazing and give great performance. We have very reliable IP links running over a five mile range.
