Causing a Ruckus at Interop 2015 with 802.11ac Wave 2 Enabled Smart Wi-Fi Network

Ruckus Wireless has announced that it has successfully deployed and is operating a Ruckus ZoneFlex R710 access point. The R710 is the world’s first Wi-Fi AP based on Wave 2 features of the 802.11ac standard, provided free-of-charge by Ruckus. This network is demonstrating the Wi-Fi performance and capacity that the ZoneFlex R710 delivers to over 12,000 show participants during this year’s Convention and Expo.

Initial performance statistics of the Interop Ruckus 802.11ac Wave 2 enabled Smart Wi-Fi network on Day 1 of the Interop Las Vegas Expo (Tuesday, April 28) showed there were 2,790 unique concurrent devices connected during peak usage time, with nearly 1 TB of data transferred, operating in the face of over 4,000 interfering rogue devices.

Ruckus Delivering the Future of Wireless Networking Now

Interop Las Vegas is the organization’s flagship event held each spring. For the second year in a row, leveraging the latest Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi technology, the Interop network is a critical backbone for exhibitors, speakers and attendees. The Interop network includes seven Ruckus ZoneFlex™ R710 802.11ac Wave 2 4×4:4 indoor APs that Ruckus provided free-of-charge to Interop Las Vegas for the Conference and Expo, integrated with Ruckus-patented BeamFlex+™ adaptive antenna technology, designed to enhance the operation of Wave 2 802.11ac technology by optimizing antenna coverage on a per client, per transmission basis. The Interop network is centrally managed with a Ruckus ZoneDirector 3000 Series controller.

Ruckus Wireless is exhibiting its latest Smart Wi-Fi products and technology, including the new ZoneFlex R710 access point, daily in Booth 858 during the Interop Las Vegas Conference and Expo; today (Wednesday), April 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and tomorrow (Thursday), April 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
